Everyday Advocacy

Make sure your employer has a comprehensive non-discrimination policy in place.

Encourage local businesses, such as medical providers, to expand intake forms to include language such as “transgender,” “gender nonconforming,” “partner” and/or “civil union”.

Challenge biased and discriminating language that seeks to disparage and marginalize the LGBTQ community such as “fag,” “you run like a girl” or “no homo”.
